Our story
Carelian Log Buildings was set up in 2014 by director Ionut, after seven years working self-employed for a Finnish log company in the UK, and ten years before that in the same trade across Europe. He started as an apprentice in handcrafted log homes at the age of 16, and in 2007 he learned the Finnish way of building with factory-manufactured logs.
What began in 2014 has grown into one of the UK's most respected log building companies, with over 50 log houses completed across the country. Director Ionut has worked on more than 200 log houses over the course of his career. Our team combines traditional techniques with modern construction methods to build homes that are well made and built to last.
